10-Aug-07 - Author Wins Five Awards

Pauline Sameshima, author of Seeing Red, wins five awards for her groundbreaking work, which has been praised as "bold, innovative, and almost unruly" by Professor Norman Denzin.

These five awards are:

2007 Outstanding Dissertation Award from the American Educational Research Association (AERA) Arts Based Educational Research (ABER) group for the best dissertation that explores, is an exemplar of, and pushes the boundaries of arts based educational research
2007 Ted T. Aoki Prize for an outstanding dissertation in Curriculum Studies
2007 Graduate Research Award from the Arts Researchers and Teachers Society (ARTS) in the Canadian Society for the Study of Education (CSSE)
2007 Dissertation Recognition of Excellence Award from the Canadian Association for Teacher Education (CATE)
2007 Gordon and Marion Smith Prize in Art Education for most promising artist and educator.
