About Ivani Vassoler

Ivani Vassoler is Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science at the State University of New York, Fredonia, where she is also the coordinator of the International Studies Interdisciplinary Program. She teaches a variety of international politics courses, and her areas of expertise are development studies, policies and politics of developing nations, and inter-American relations.

Dr. Vassoler is involved in several international education projects and has directed study abroad programs in Brazil and Mexico. She holds a PhD in Government and Politics from the University of Maryland, an MA in International Relations from the University of San Diego, and a BA in Journalism from the School of Social Communication in São Paulo, Brazil. She has vast experience in international journalism, having worked as reporter in Brazil, and later as a foreign correspondent in Mexico City and Washington DC.
