About Barbara Miller

Barbara M. Miller is an associate professor in the School of Communications at Elon University. She holds a PhD in mass communication from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and an MS and BS in journalism from West Virginia University. Dr. Miller has worked in advertising and public relations in Virginia and West Virginia and has published research on marketplace advocacy, crisis communication, and risk communication in several journals including the Journal of Advertising, Journal of Public Relations Research, Journal of Applied Communication Research, Journalism and Mass Communication Quarterly, Communication Research Reports, Newspaper Research Journal, and Risk Analysis.
