About Zachary Michael Jack

Zachary Michael Jack is the author of many books on sustainable farming, conservation, and the environment, including Love of the Land: Essential Farm and Conservation Readings and The Green Roosevelt: Theodore Roosevelt in Appreciation of Wilderness, Wildlife, and Wild Places, both from Cambria Press. A two-time nominee for the Theodore Saloutos Award for the year's best book in agriculture, Jack sits on the board of the Midwestern History Association. The author's great-grandfather, farm writer Walter Thomas Jack, helped pioneer the organic and sustainable farm movements in the U.S. with his 1946 book The Furrow and Us. Jack is an associate professor of English at North Central College, where he teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in writing, leadership, and place studies.
