About Karen Lee

Karen An-hwei Lee is Professor of English and department chair at Vanguard University. She holds a PhD in British and American Literature from the University of California, Berkeley, and an MFA from Brown University. The recipient of a National Endowment for the Arts Grant, Dr. Lee is the author of Phyla of Joy, Ardor, and In Medias Res, winner of the Norma Farber First Book Award from the Poetry Society of America. Her translations, essays, and poetry appear in Journal of Feminist Studies and Religion, Poetry Magazine, Kenyon Review, Virginia Quarterly Review, Meridians: feminism, race, transnationalism, and IMAGE: Art, Faith, Mystery.
