About Gabriela Fried Amilivia

Gabriela Fried Amilivia is an associate professor of sociology at California State University Los Angeles. She holds a PhD from UCLA, an MA from University of Paris VII (Jussieu), and a BA from Universidad de la República, Uruguay. In addition to articles in journals such as the International Journal of Transitional Justice (IJTJ) and Social Identities, Dr. Fried Amilivia’s other publications include Luchas Contra la Impunidad: Uruguay 1985-2011 and a variety of book chapters. She has also been a Fulbright Scholar, a Mellon Fellow for Latin American Sociology, and a United States Institute for Peace Junior Fellow.
