About Hongjian Wang

Hongjian Wang is an assistant professor of Chinese and Asian Studies at Purdue University. She holds a PhD in comparative literature from University of California, Riverside. Her research interests include modern Chinese literature, cinema, theater, print media, and cultural history. She has published articles on the Liangyou pictorial in the Republican era, contemporary Chinese independent documentary films, Hong Kong comedy film's cult following in mainland China, contemporary Chinese cynical metatheater and avant-garde theater.
