Catherine Tite is a specialist in British eighteenth-century visual culture. Dr. Tite studied at the Universities of London, Reading, and Manchester, and she holds a PhD in history of art. She is the recipient of research grants from the Arts and Humanities Research Council and Paul Mellon Centre for Studies in British Art. She has also received fellowships from the Humanities Research Group, University of Windsor, Canada and Paul Mellon Centre for Studies in British Art. In 2010 In 2010, her book Portraiture, Dynasty and Power: Art Patronage in Hanoverian Britain, 1714–1759 was nominated for the Saskatchewan Book Award.
