Natalia Pinazza is an associate lecturer at Birkbeck College. She holds a PhD and MA from University of Bath and a BA from University of São Paulo. Dr Pinazza’s previous publications include Journeys in Argentine and Brazilian Cinema: Road Films in a Global Era, World Cinema Directory: Brazil, and World Film Locations: São Paulo. She has published in journals such as the Journal of Latin American Cultural Studies and Alphaville: Journal of Media and Film Studies.

Gustavo Infante is a Portuguese Language Teaching Fellow at the University of Bristol. He holds a PhD from the University of Bristol with a thesis in Comparative Literature. Dr. Infante has published articles on literature from Macau written in Chinese, English, and Portuguese, and on Macanese identity.
Carolin Overhoff Ferreira is assistant professor at the Federal University of São Paulo. She holds an MA and a PhD from Freie Universität Berlin. Dr. Ferreira’s previous publications include Neue Tendenzen in der Dramatik Lateinamerikas, Identity and Difference – Postcoloniality and Transnationality in Lusophone Films, Diálgos Africanos –Uum Continente no Cinema, and Cinema Português – Aproximações à sua História e Indisciplinaridade. She edited O Cinema Português Através dos Seus Filmes , Dekalog – On Manoel de Oliveira, Terra em Transe - Ética e Estética no Cinema Português, Manoel de Oliveira – Novas Perspectivas sobre a Sua Obra, and África: um Continente no Cinema. Dr. Ferreira has published in several journals such as Adaptation, Camera Obscura, Forum Modernes Theater, Journal of African Cinemas, Latin American Theatre Review, Modern Drama, Music and the Moving Image, Studies in European Cinema, Third Text, and Transnational Cinemas.
Antônio M. da Silva is the coordinator of Portuguese studies at the University of Kent (UK). He holds a PhD from the University of Bristol, and an MRes from the University of Leeds, both on Brazilian cinema. Dr. Da Silva’s previous publications include The ‘Femme’ Fatale in Brazilian Cinema: Challenging Hollywood Norms, contributions to the Directory of World Cinema: Brazil and World Film Locations: São Paulo. He has published articles on gender and sexuality in Afro-Luso-Brazilian cinema and literature in several journals such as Caderno Seminal Digital, Revista de Letras da UNESP, and Journal of African Cinemas. His main research interests are gender, sexuality, and race in cinema, especially from the 1970s onwards, with a focus on the Portuguese-speaking world.
Reinaldo Cardenuto teaches cinema history at Fundação Armando Alvares Penteado (FAAP), located in São Paulo - Brazil. He holds a PhD, an MA and a BA from Universidade de São Paulo (USP) and a second BA from Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo (PUC-SP). Dr. Cardenuto’s publications include the articles “A dramaturgy of evaluation: political theater in the 1970s” in the journal Estudos Avançados and “L’écriture de l’histoire dans le cinéma de Leon Hirszman” in Cinéma d’amérique latine. He has also contributed to books such as Directory of World Cinema: Brazil and World Film Locations: São Paulo. Dr. Cardenuto is also documentarian and curator of exhibitions.
Alfredo Suppia teaches Film Studies at the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP), Brazil. He is a member of the Brazilian Society for Film and Audiovisual Studies (SOCINE) and the Science Fiction Research Association (SFRA), and author of the following books: The Replicant Metropolis: Constructing a Dialogue Between Metropolis and Blade Runner (A Metrópole Replicante: Construindo um Diálogo ente Metropolis e Blade Runner), Independent Cinemas: Cartographies for a Global Audiovisual Phenomenon (Cinemas Independentes: Cartografias para um Fenômeno Audiovisual Global), and Rarefied Atmosphere: Science Fiction in the Brazilian Cinema.
